JOB SUMMARY:
CDG Maui, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented, organized construction project engineer to join our growing team. You will support the Project Manager and Superintendent through procurement, submittals, RFI’s, subcontractor and vendor coordination, plan tracking and AS BUILT, invoice coding, quality control and safety. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, yet functions well independently. Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, the PE is comfortable wearing multiple hats and instinctively knows how to prioritize (and re-prioritize) according to changing needs. Intrinsic to the construction process, this role adeptly communicates with all members of the project, including: field staff, site supervisors, subcontractors, finance, management, client and architect.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist PM to plan budgets, cost estimates, and other financial estimates (change order proposals)
- Assist PM in maintaining project budgets, tracking expenses, cost-to-complete, forecasting and profitability
- Assist Superintendent to coordinate, plan, and manage schedule
- Initiate and manage Purchase Orders for materials and equipment, coordinating deliveries and code invoices
- Assist Superintendent in updating the 3-week Lookahead schedule
- Oversee construction project progress and provide reports on timeline, progress and adjustments
- Assist PM in creating, execute and manage subcontract agreements
- Document control; update files, AS BUILTS, records and logs
- Quality Control; confirm materials installed are per approved submittals and per the manufacturer’s installation instructions
- Safety; walk project for jobsite hazards and report to Superintendent
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS •
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, or 4 years project engineer/coordination experience
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Able to manage time on multiple projects
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Goal-oriented and organized
- Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Self-motivated and self-directed
- Able to build strong working relationships with team members, vendors, subcontractors and customers
- Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office (word, excel); creating Gantt Charts and experience with Project Management software preferred
- Very comfortable using new technologies
- OSHA certification a plus

Salary: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
